Running a small online shop means wearing every hat: product photographer, copywriter, customer service, bookkeeper, and marketer. Many of those hats involve writing and organizing — exactly where an AI assistant can take real weight off. But a shop also makes public claims about products, prices, and policies, and those claims carry consequences. This guide covers where an assistant helps small sellers most and the checks that keep a shop trustworthy.

Product listings

Drafting descriptions

Give the assistant the real facts — materials, dimensions, care instructions, what's included — and ask for a description in your shop's voice. Ask for a short version and a longer one. The key rule: every factual claim in the listing must come from you, not from the assistant's imagination.

Avoiding claims you can't support

Assistants tend to write persuasively, and persuasive copy can drift into claims you can't back up: health benefits, "best quality," comparisons with competitors, or certifications you don't hold. Advertising and consumer protection rules vary by country, but unsupported claims are a risk almost everywhere. Ask the assistant to list every claim in a draft, then delete any you can't prove.

Draft claim Keep it?
"Made from organic cotton" (and it is, per supplier documents) Keep, with documentation on file
"Helps you sleep better" Remove unless you have evidence and it's permitted
"Better than brand X" Remove unless you can substantiate it
"Ships in 2-3 business days" Keep only if it's consistently true

Customer replies

An assistant can draft polite, clear replies to common questions: shipping times, returns, sizing. Build a small library of approved replies you've edited once, and reuse them. Update the library whenever a policy changes, so an old answer about shipping times or return windows doesn't keep going out after it stops being true. For complaints, refunds, and anything involving money, read every draft carefully — assistants can be over-accommodating and may offer refunds or discounts you didn't intend. Never paste customers' full addresses or payment details into an AI tool.

Planning and organizing

  • Launch checklists for new products: photos, listing, pricing, inventory count, announcement.
  • Content calendars for social posts, with ideas you then adapt.
  • Inventory notes turned into a reorder list.
  • Seasonal planning based on your own sales patterns, which you supply.
  • Photo shot lists describing the angles and details each product page needs, so shoots are faster and listings look consistent.

What to keep in your own hands

  • Prices and fees. Calculate them yourself and double-check marketplace fee schedules on the official pages.
  • Policies. Returns, warranties, and shipping terms should be written deliberately and checked against the rules that apply to you.
  • Taxes and legal requirements. Use an assistant to prepare questions; get answers from qualified professionals or official sources.
  • Sending. Review customer messages before they go out.

Where AZET stands

We're building azet, an AI assistant at azet.io; "Shop" and "Business" are among the section names on the site. As of October 2026 the assistant is in an early-access waitlist, joined by registering an email, and pricing hasn't been published. We're not describing seller features of an unreleased product.

FAQ

Can an AI assistant write my product listings? It can draft them from the facts you provide. Every factual claim should come from you and be verifiable.

What claims should I avoid in AI-written listings? Anything you can't substantiate: health benefits, superiority over competitors, or certifications you don't hold.

Is it okay to use AI for customer service replies? For drafting, yes. Review replies about refunds or money carefully, and don't paste customers' personal or payment details.

Can AI handle my pricing? Use it to organize, but calculate prices and check fees yourself.

Does azet have features for online sellers? As of October 2026 azet is in an early-access waitlist at azet.io, and we haven't published feature details or pricing.

Join the waitlist

The waitlist at https://azet.io is open, free, and obligates you to nothing. Let an assistant handle the drafting — and keep every claim your shop makes one you can stand behind.
